Ma Crow kicks off 'Women at
Monmouth'
By Rick Bird
Post staff reporter
Bluegrass
meets the blues in a great collaboration of veteran
artists Saturday as the "Women at the Monmouth" music
series kicks off five solid shows.
Sponsored by
the relatively new non-profit support group Women's Way,
the series begins Friday with bluegrass singer Ma Crow
teaming with gritty bluesman Greg Schaber and bassist
Larry Nager. Yes, that would be "Crow, Schaber and Nager,"
although Nager acknowledges CS&N is already taken as a
moniker.
Nager, who
has often drifted between the blues and bluegrass with
his upright bass, was behind bringing the two veteran
singers together.
